Singin’ in the Rain: Friday, February 14

6563588961_ca0abbfbe8It’s Valentine’s Day, folks. Some of you are swooning in love, some of you are binge-watching Netflix and binge-eating chocolate, and some of you are throwing parties involving large amounts of both vodka and cats (both of which are perfectly legitimate Valentines, thank you very much!). Regardless, you’ve seen all those pink hearts and roses since Christmas and now it’s finally almost over. Tomorrow, you’ll be able to buy candy at prices rivaled only by those on November 1, so that alone is cause for celebration. We thought about putting up an anti-Valentine’s day song in keeping with our hip, edgy image (we posted Incubus last week, duh), but maybe we’re a little caught up in the storm of flowers and candlelit dinners, too. So, today, we’re giving you a love song: Every Little Thing She Does is Magic by The Police.

If anyone knows love, it’s Sting. With his sweet, sweet voice and the best nickname ever (don’t even mention Bieber/Bizzle, and Sting was doing it before Diddy was even born), he’s the only one we want to hear on this holiday for lovers. Every Little Thing She Does is Magic is the story of a man in love who just doesn’t know how to tell the girl. “Do I have to tell the story,” he asks, “of a thousand rainy days since we first met? It’s a big enough umbrella, but it’s always me who’s getting wet.” Oh Sting, don’t cry! All the girls in town would be happy to share your umbrella! For your Valentine’s Day pleasure, we give you this classic love song.
