Umbrella – Rihanna

2834620960_f037d72360_mYou knew it was coming. The first song that comes to your mind when you think about umbrellas. And now, with our first official ‘brellaBox up and running at WeWork Charging Bull in the Financial District of NYC, it’s time to let Rihanna off the leash (S&M? Get it?) It’s also a good time to have access to umbrellas with Hurricane Arthur approaching down south, setting us up for a few days of thunderstorms. That may not be the best news for the Fourth of July, but I imagine we’ll find a way to “Party in the USA” regardless of the weather (ok, so that’s Miley and not Rihanna, but it fits).

Rihanna, pop siren from Barbados, brought us the glory that is “Umbrella” in 2007. Even though the decade was almost over when the track dropped, “Umbrella” was one of the most-played songs of the 2000s on the radio. It’s number 412 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 best songs of all time and sat on top of the US Billboard 100 for 7 weeks running. You know the words. You know the hook. When the skies open up this weekend, get under our umbrellas and revel in the glory of RiRi.
